This once-in-a lifetime cycling trip will take you through some of the finest scenery in Europe. Hugging the Atlantic coastline, the ride will be fully supported with our on bike guides and a vehicle that, as well as transporting your luggage, will be on hand to support with carrying extra items of clothing, food and be there in the event of any mechanical difficulties. The trip is fully inclusive of all meals and accommodation and transport from Oban to Inchnadamph. Cycling doesn’t get much better than this.
Sunday
We will meet in Oban for 10am from where we will transport you and your bike to Inchnadamph.
Monday
60 miles – Inchnadamph to Ullapool
Today’s ride starts with a climb over Quinaig right from the word go. We then will follow the stunning coastline around via Drumbeg and Lochinver. When we first rode this part of the route, we felt that this was some of the best cycling we had ever done anywhere in the world. The ride will take in a rollercoaster road with 20% gradients, wild Atlantic beaches, woodland and mountains.
Tuesday
85 miles – Ullapool to Torridon
This is a long day in the saddle, but you will be rewarded with some of Scotland’s finest mountain scenery. An Teallach, Slioch and Beinn Alligin are just some of the mountains you will be riding past today.
Wednesday
65 miles – Torrdon to Plockton
The Bealach na Ba will feature on today’s ride. This is the longest continous road climb in the UK and is graded as a Cat 1 climb. However, before you get there, there is the Applecross peninsula to be negotiated
Thursday
40 miles – Plockton to Arisaig
Today is a shorter rest day and will take us onto the Isle of Skye. We will then cycle down to Armadale to catch the ferry across to Mallaig. The day will finish with a short ride to our accommodation for the night.
Friday
55 miles – Arisaig to Ballachulish
The ride today will take us through the depths of Morar and Moidart. Steeped in history, this mountainous landscape is filled with deep and dark oak woodland and is a pleasure to cycle through. From Corran, we will jump on the ferry to Onich and then cycle to Ballachulish on the fringes of the infamous Glencoe.
Saturday
35 miles – Ballachulish to Oban
The final part of our ride will take us back to Oban
Additional nights’ accommodation and riding can be organised if required. We can also arrange for airport transfer from Glasgow or Edinburgh airports. Price is also based on sharing a twin room. Please get in touch if you would prefer a single room.
