Do I need travel insurance?
Skinny Tyres insist on travel insurance for yourself and equipment. Cycling on open roads can be dangerous. In the event of medical support, lost baggage or if you need to cancel your trip, insurance can be essential. Please ensure your insurance covers you for sport. In addition it is recommended that EU Nationals hold an EHIC card for reciprocal health care provision within the EU. Online application is available from http://www.ehic.org.uk/.
Additional contact details are also required by Skinny Tyres in case of emergency.
How big are the groups?
Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 14 clients per trip.
Can I have a single room?
If you would like a single room please indicate this on the booking from and we will contact you directly to confirm availability and price.
What kind of shape do I need to be in?
You do not need to be a super fit to enjoy a Skinny Tyres trip but you will need to be in reasonably good shape. You should be comfortable with rides of longer distance and riding times of up to 6 hours.
What do I need to bring?
We advise you bring your own bike that you are most comfortable cycling longer distances on. It should be in good mechanical order and it is recommended that you have it serviced prior to your trip
If you are arriving by flight it is recommended that you do not pack your clothing, shoes, helmet and pedals with your bike. In the unlikely event that your bike does not arrive with your flight we can source a replacement bike for you as required
A helmet which you should wear at all times when out on the road. You should also be prepared with clothing for all weathers. Scotland has been known to have all 4 seasons in one day including snow up in the moutains in the middle of Summer. Bring long fingered gloves, overshoes and other wet weather gear. We can carry as much extra clothing in our ride vehicle as you feel you may need including a spare change of clothes which we advise.
Can I stay longer?
Additional days to your trip can be booked if you would like to add days at either end of your stay. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for full details.
