This ride has been classified as Easy:
Steady riding at an average of 12 to 15 mph. Ideal for those who are new to cycling or competing in their first event. These rides aim to increase your confidence in your riding ability as well as introducing you to group riding. The maximum distance will be 40 miles, but will include some climbing. Suitable for riders who would complete the Etape Caledonia in five and a half hours or more.
Due to the unprecedented demand for our Etape Caledonia single day training rides, we have the pleasure of offering you the chance to add a weekend trip to your training schedule. Based in Pitlochry, Skinny Tyres is now offering you the opportunity to spend a weekend cycling on many of the roads used on the Etape route. Pitlochry is ideally placed for the cyclist to access a huge network of quiet roads. Our local guides have an intimate knowledge of the locality and will help you discover some new hidden gems. Along with the opportunity to ride with fellow like-minded cyclists we can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend.
Thank you for a great day on Saturday. Everyone was really helpful from the Skinny Tyres guides to the support on the ride. (Your guide) Ann was particularly helpful answering all my “girlie” biking questions! A very well organised day with fantastic scenery and we are really looking forward to our next visit to Highland Perthshire. – M. Hamilton – Etape Caledonia Single day ride – February

We will provide you with complimentary energy products and a support vehicle will be on hand in the event of any mechanical difficulty. Our guides are all experienced in sportive and road racing and will be pleased to answer any questions or give advice.
Saturday afternoon
Returning to the Atholl Palace, we’ll give you a recovery drink and then you will have an opportunity to settle in to your room. Lunch will provided during the ride. Later in the afternoon we will provide an hour long seminar on emergency bike repairs, giving you practical hands on experience.
After dinner, you will have an opportunity to get a massage and then spend the rest of the evening relaxing.
Sunday
